This Privacy Policy explains what personal information pauletienne.com collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website only.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in the booking form or the contact form, we collect what you type into it. That may include:
- Your first and last name
- Email address and phone number
- Organization and job title
- Event details such as the event name, date, type, format, audience size and location
- Any message or notes you add
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our host keeps standard server logs that record things like IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Our form software also records when a submission was made, and may record the submitting IP address to help block spam. We use a caching plugin, LiteSpeed Cache, which may set cookies so pages are served correctly.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your booking request or message
- To check availability and put together a proposal for your event or engagement
- To add you to our contact management system, FluentCRM, so we can follow up properly
- To protect the site from spam and abuse
- To meet our legal and record keeping obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent, which you give by submitting a form and ticking the consent box; on our legitimate interests in replying to enquiries and protecting the site; and on legal obligation where that applies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the services that help us run this site, and only as far as needed:
- Hostinger for website hosting and server infrastructure
- Fluent Forms and FluentCRM for form submissions and contact management, stored in our own website database
- Our email service, which delivers notification emails to us and confirmations to you
We may also disclose information where the law requires it. This site links to Amazon. Once you follow a link off this site, that company’s own privacy policy governs your visit.
5. How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and contact records for as long as we need them to answer and service your enquiry, and after that for our business records. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California may also have rights to know, delete and correct their information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. To exercise any right, email me@pauletienne.com. We will never treat you differently for asking.
7. Security
We use standard protections including HTTPS encryption in transit and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
8. Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. One of our books is written for children, but it is bought by adults and this website is intended for adults. If you believe a child has given us information, email me@pauletienne.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top will always show the current version.
10. Contact us
To ask about this policy or to exercise any of your rights, email me@pauletienne.com or use our contact form.
